This event promises to be an exciting evening of cutting-edge CSI
demos and panel discussion. It is also an excellent opportunity for
you to get to a feel for what's going on in the school. For catering
purposes, if you'd like to attend can you please email nicola.stokes@ucd.ie by next
week.

In addition....

There will be an invited talk by Sam Samuel, Executive Director of
Bell Labs UK & Ireland on the general topic of enabling Irish Academic
and Industry collaboration.

This will be followed by a "lively" panel discussion with our very own
Dr Fred Cummins and Prof. Barry Smyth, as well as:
* Dr Sean Baker, co-founder of Iona Technologies, adjunct-Prof. UCD, and
* Joe Drumgoole, CloudSplit.com and the Tech guy on the George Hook Show,
who will discuss the following topic: should all academic research
activity be informed by commercial needs?

The evening kicks off at 5pm with the technology exhibit in the Active
Learning lab followed by the invited talk and panel discussion at 6pm
in the lecture theatre in the CS building.
